  • Who was at the end of the surfboard? Her partner?

I think you should call social services or the society of battered wives!

In the same general area, yes, but I live in Telemark. The snow's still there, btw, but we're supposed to get +10 in a few days, so I'm suspecting that the weather gods are somehow playing yo-yo.

Hope the shopping expedition left you unharmed, and that you didn't have to swing by Oslo City. It's a nightmare.

LOL, I always thought the telemark was named after some ski jumper or so...

BTW, austrian did you take part in the student's protests (student fees) against your new government as well?

                  • berolina, I had lessons during that time and didn't wanna skip them as exams are coming up. I would have done, if I had had the time. I'm absolutely against student fees (outrageous!) but I think it's ok to do some social work instead (that's the consent they came up with). I think I will go for this option once the details are revealed. Of course, it would be brilliant if the fees were just abolished at all. IMHO, Gusenbauer (head of socialdemocrats and new chancellor) signed a Faustian deal there. Well, it didn't surprise me that a politician's lust for power is stronger than his beliefs.

                      as usual

PS: You could try to finish your studies before they introduce the fees.

                      • Unfortunately, the fees were introduced in 2001 or 2002 (when the People's Party seized the power). So I had to pay them, anyway.

The reason why there were protests was that now that the socialdemocrats are the strongest party again it was expected that the fees would be abolished (as promised before the election). But in order to form a government, they abandoned that promise and came up with another solution. Either you pay your fees as usual or you do some social work. Haven't looked into the details tho, and don't know when those changes are gonna happen. Sold their beliefs for peanuts. They even had to hand the Ministry of Finance to the People's Party. Usually the party of the chancellor ALWAYS had the financial department. What a farce!

                        • The most exciting thing is about to start for me

                          THE WEEKEND
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
