    Any darts fans here?

Raymond van Barne(y)veld lost to youngster Michael van Gerwen yesterday. What a shock (I couldn't be more pleased!)

    4 classic matches coming up

Phil Taylor v. John Walton, two world champions
Michael van Gerwen v. Simon Whitlock, two giant slayers
Colin Lloyd v. Gary Anderson, two world #1s
Mike Veitch v. Tony Eccles, two very consistent veterans

    And tomorrow we'll have
Tony O'Shea v. Martin Adams, two big rivals
Vincent van der Voort v. Niels de Ruijter, Dutch rivalry here
Daryl Fitton v. Mervyn King, two really good players who throw tons of 180s
Ronnie Baxter v. Martin Atkins, prolly one of the least interesting matches

I know I'm cheering for Phil, Michael, Gary, Mike, Tony, Vincent, Daryl and Ronnie in these 8 clashes.

I like watching darts elvaago. Been to Matchplay in Blackpool a few times. Taylor was awesome.

My all time favourite is 'Wee Jocky Wilson' of course.

Phil Taylor is supernatural. He is so far above other players that when he retires, there'll be a giant drop in the level of darts.

My favourites include Andy Fordham, Ronnie Baxter and Ronald Scholten.

So, unsurprisingly, Taylor demolishes John Boy Walton 4-1, Colin Lloyd beats Anderson 4-2 and Mike Veitch wins over Tony Eccles. Lloyd had a 170 finish and was milimeters away from a 9 dart leg. All these are fairly common results.

A minor surprise was that 17-year old Michael van Gerwen beat another good player, Simon Whitlock, 4-3. A classic match that went all the way. His next match will be either Daryl Fitton or Mervyn King, so either way, he'll have to defeat another very, very strong player.

I get the feeling that Michael van Gerwen is going to be the next darts superstar. I would love it if he moved to the PDC and there could be a three-way rivalry between him, Taylor and Barneveld.

Does anyone know how he's doing in the BDO rankings? Having never seen the guy play it would be good to see him in the BDO World Championships.

He is ranked 6th in the BDO, at the moment.

I'm not sure about him becoming a superstar. he does seem to be doing very well at the moment, but he's only 17. Jelle Klaassen, another young kid, has dropped almost to anonymity after winning the BDO world championship. I hope I'll be proven wrong, as Michael seems to be a very nice kid.
