Need some help from any IT guys on the forum.
I own A JVc HDD camcord and can't seem to upload images on to youtube.
I've brought a new laptop just for this reason and still can't get anything uploaded.
I'm using cyberlink DVD suit to edit and produce my video. Is it this software thats the problem. Can anyone suggest any better software and if it's freeware all the better. Or any general tips would be nice.
    Thanks in advance.

apparently you can just change the extention to mpg by typing it in the file name. They are supposed to be the same type of files just JVC uses a dodgy extention. Im not sure if you can upload to youtube with mpg though i have never tried.

What exactly is the problem? Is it that the camcorder produces video in .MOD or .TOD format and the software wont load that? or something else?

Did you get "Cyberlink PowerDirector" with your camcorder? If so..

If not, the file format is described here:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOD_and_TOD_(video_format)

and it mentions using FFmpeg to convert the files, this is a command line application so you need to know how to use command line etc.

For referebnce.. YouTube supports these formats:

I haven't done a lot of video editing myself. I have used VirtuaDub for a limited range of things, like converting between formats. But, it's notorious for being complex to use, partly because it can do a lot of complex/powerful things.

If you have "CyberLink PowerDirector" on a CD/DVD that came with the camcorder then I would give that a go first, and see how you get on.

If you don't like it, or it cannot do what you want then...

There are even some free options on that list that you can try.
