Remember, I'd like the answer in smallest fraction possible!

Edit: I will tell the correct answer along with a solution tomorrow at say about 9am. Goodnite!

First of all, pardon my English mathematical terminology. Probability is, as you already know, propitious results divided by possible results.

Total number of propitious results are:

              21 + 22 + … + 100 + 20*100 = 80(21 + 100)/2 + 2000 = 6840 OR
              21 + 22 + ... + 99 + 21*100 = 79(21 + 99)/2 + 2100 = 6840

              according to the arithmetic sum.

Total number of possible results are:

              100^2 = 10000

              So the probabilty is:

              6840/10000 = 171/250

So the correct answer is 171/250
              Congrats, kaikaixiner!

                Oooh. So close.

I used excel to make a probability table

                Must have miscounted.

There is already a maths quiz going on in the forums
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
