I can really recommend Jimmy White's autobiography, to keep on the subject at hand.

I doubt any of the other books I'm reading are of any interest to most of you folks. They involve qigong, shaolin, acupressure and psychology.

Are you reading these books for fun or do you work in in some job that involves Qigong, shaolin, acupressure and psychology?

Thank you for underestimating us. I like to be underrated. It is a good guise. .

Sonnenbluemchen, I'll have to try to get some of his books from the library here. Have to admit didn't read a whole lot of german books in the last 20 years. High time!
Last german 'thing' was something out of the library here, without punctuation or capitals- can't tell you how tiresome that was. First book I never finished.

Otherwise, I just remembered, Jane Eyre of course (after Berolina mentioned Pride and Prejudice).

Anyhow, the title of his book proved to be very appropriate. No one will forget his name now!!!!
Lucky you Cessy - have you ever met Stephen. I've seen him at the last two Premier League semis but was too 'starstruck' to go and ask for his autograph!

even very confident people have times where it lacks

thing is, he could only have said no. depends when you catch him

as with 99% of sportspeople, they generally have time for all their fans, but in some instances people catch them in moods. not saying thats right, but sure everyones heard a story about someone who knows someone who was treated badly by a sportsperson, or popstar etc..

Hi, Snookersfun, Kurt Vonnegut is an American. I love his laconic style, which makes his books easy to comprehend for non-Americans.
O, yes, I can imagine how complicated, even boring, it must be, to read German writers in their mother tongue. .Most of them are ever so top-heavy. Unnecessarily.

He was actually signing autographs Semih They usually spend about 5 minutes after their game signing whilst they wait for Sky to do the adverts and set up the interview). If he gets to the semis again this year I'll definitely get in the queue!

I don't know how famous he really is. A young friend of mine gave me one of his books years ago. As he knew me quite well he also knew I would love K: W.
                          I have in my bookshelve:
Slaughterhouse-Five ( which I read first, maybe this is his most popular one)
                          Bluebird
                          Dead-Eye Dick
                          Hocus Pocus
                          There are many more.
