I vote for "The lord of the ring" too! Others are Agatha Christie's Poirot and Marple, Dan Brown's angle and demon, and a few other children books...

I love a lot of writers. One I do like very much is Kurt Vonnegut. His trademark is irony. .

Henning Mankell, Ake Edwardsson and Ann Granger are good crime authors, too.

I recently read Stephen Hendry's 'Remember My Name' by John Docherty (a Scottish sports writer)which was written in 1990 when Stephen was 21. Very interesting given how successfull he became after this. I bought it second hand off Amazon.

I just read this recently too Val and it was a good read. He was brought up just some 15 miles or so from where I live, so therefore found some parts of the book particularly interesting. I used to attend pipe band practice/competitions at the high school Stephen attended(Inverkeithing HS).

Anyhow, the title of his book proved to be very appropriate. No one will forget his name now!!!!
