Well, a bit of a problem here.
I've got two weeks at the end of October/ start of November, don't think I would be very happy to enjoy Latvian weather at that time, so where would you recommend me to go let's say for a week? Somewhere in Europe...

Not sure, but during that time I'm going to New York City
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

Just plane. Not car, and I am sure Latvian railway is not connected to European Though of course could go to somewhere and then get into a train, but that would take some time.

Anyway thanks, I will think about Portugal!

Israel will still be very warm. Eilat, if you like sea and beach. But can be expensive.
Turkey (e.g. Marmaris or Bodrum, right next to Kos) is so much cheaper and very nice as well. I don't know though, how it is in the end of October, high season definitely over then.

well yes, there might be a big problem with the country. It is comparatively quiet right now (but just to our opinion, I guess), but I see the point.

I think I'd go there when I have more time. I don't think I will spend full two weeks only travelling, have to catch some snooker at my TV too
