My guess was Gabriel Garcia Marquez (as he is also one of my favourite writers), so I checked on IMDB and really "Love in the Time of Cholera".
It says the release date of this film is the 26th of December THIS YEAR and I haven't heard anything about it yetEin jedes Werkzeug ist ein Tand in eines tumben Toren Hand.

I didn't check the release dates for all the European countries tbh. I saw the preview and thought it'd make a good Q.
Btw, ADR, I said the novelist is South American, so you didn't need the whole list of the Nobel prize winners really...
