  • Yes Mignon, that is indeed the film and these are the people. My next clue was that Melina Merkouri had become Minister of Culture in Greece and Jules Dassin still lives in Athens and is dedicated to their common dream of the return of the Parthenon marbles from London.

ADR, I had never heard of Simone Signoret having lived in Greece or considering herself Greek for any reason, so I looked it up and found no connection whatsoever.

You should ask the next Q, Mignon.

            • No clues in my previous post. Its a french film and it won best Director at the Cannes festival in the year it was released. Classic french film noir, is one of those films that has far reaching influence but sadly not enough people have seen it (so yes it probably is a tough one!)

The person who finds the answer about a film is the one who must ask the next question.
I posted that before Qubit showed us the new pic...

                • OK, big clue. By pure co-incidence the director of the film was mentioned on the previous page to this one!

                  • Rififi, the director is Jules Dassin.

I think Mignon should post a Q now.

You did very well imo. If Mignon posts the next Q, there will be no confusion now...
