Well its an oldish boxing film (90's) about the life of a young English boy growing up under apartheid in South Africa and it is a truly great film and a good book too it is called The Power of One.

One to watch before you die for sure.

Best anti war film of the counter culture years, late 60's early 70's not the 50's when Paths Of Glory was made. Trumbo wrote his novel in 1939 when WW2 kicked off, earned his living as a hollywood screen writer but was blacklisted when he refused to testify when dragged before the Macarthy anti communist witchhunts in the 50's.
Continued his work under different pseudonyms and actually won two oscars under two different names while banned.

Johnny Got His Guns' central character is a young american soldier in WW1 who loses both arms and legs plus his face and whose life is saved, but cannot communicate with his doctors and nurses even though his intellect remains intact. He is kept in isolation away from the other patients and his existence is kept secret from the press and the public while a group of generals decide his fate.
His past is told in metaphorical dreams that need to be deciphered and if you're a fan of David Lynch's work then you will enjoy it very much and understand the overall metaphorical message that the film conveys.

ah david lynch, i suspect he took a lot of drugs, not sure i ever took enough to fully understand it!

Well could be a trick question as it has been a quote parodied in a few films - but the one I remember is the Mel Brooks film Blazing saddles so I will go for that.

This a good one, I should think ADR will get this with it being from his neck of the woods this just makes me laugh every time, managed to find the whole quote online as well (sorry about the swearing, it's a not a very 'clean' film lol):
