For sheer stupidity, Elf is brilliant. I like "The Santa Claus" with Tim Allen as well which isn't on your list. Watched a really stupid one the other day with Whoopi Goldberg chosen as santa's replacement LOL

Have to say though "The Muppets Christmas Carol" is great

Well, I don't celebrate christmas, but I don't see that as a reason not to enjoy some of these movies.

I used to love movies like Die Hard, Home Alone, and even Gremlins. It's not really relevant to the plot whether it happens over christmas or not, but I think it adds these movies some heart, and it's part of the reason why they might stand the test of time.

There are some movies in this poll that I haven't seen, and I'm a bit embarrassed that "It's a Wonderful Life" is among them. Especially considering how many times it's been spoofed by other movies and TV shows. So perhaps this is the one I'll watch this year.

Yes you really should give it a try, it's a wonderful film, but then I am a big James Stuart fan so...

I'd have Die hard and A Christmas Carol as my second and third choices respectively.
