Following last night's/today's events, and with the minute's silence to be held at the start of the snooker at Preston this Thursday, it got me thinking:
I wonder when the first minute's silence was held to mark the passing of someone in the relevant sport? (Was not sport, necessarily, I suppose!)
And who was the first person to be commemorated in such a way?
Anyone know?
