well, every word in that sentence finishes with the letter that the word in front of it starts with. Plus it looks rather symmetric to have a 'couple of each', so while 'help' was a first answer the couple of words looks rather superior.

I know - yours almost worked. It works if we pair words like this:

1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 9-10

but the answer had to work with every adjacent pair, so with

1-2 2-3 3-4 4-5 5-6 6-7 7-8 8-9 9-10

My 1-2 was supposed to represent words 1 and 2; 2-3 was supposed to represent words 2 and 3 etc.

Yours of course is expressed in a different (better ) way, where you have used 1-2 to represent a single word beginnnig with letter 1 and ending in letter 2; etc.

Does anyone remember what round we are on? Round 50 next?

And does anyone remember whether there is still a scoreboard on this thread? I think The Statman ditched it, but can't remember for sure....

So, this morning I finally received a Memory Course that Barry The Baboon ordered me for Christmas, to help me remember things like this. I don't know why it took so long to arrive - I guess they had forgotten to post it. It being a nice morning, I took the course outside to read, while eating a banana for breakfast, and sat on the grass (and then noticed that I was about 6 feet from some rather unpleasant doggie mess). I gazed up at the sky and guess what I saw? A flying pig! So, to get me out of the very deep hole that I am in, remind me please what I was trying to remember?

Banana = yellow
grass = green
dogpoo = brown
sky = blue
pig = pink
hole = black

If it took too long to remember, being out there in the sun you would have been the shade of 15 reds – but they come before the colours!
