as long as we don't say that the plural of medium is media

according to the Harraps both plurals are correct. I guess "medium" as in a certain support for communication would take "media" and "medium" as a person with "special psychic capabilities" would take mediums ...

In which case, we will formally close round 56! Congratulations, snookersfun, with the 15!

Yes, both media and mediums are acceptable plurals.

                How about this.

What do the following pairs of words have in common?

                View and wife
                File and fly
                Dummy and medium
                Wolf and vowel
                Latch and chalet
                Actor and scrotum
I think Monique got the correct answer, Stella making the final link with Scrota and Actors.

As far as medium is concerned, I would have thought that 'media' is the plural of platform for information, whereas mediums would be used in most other senses.

I sense davis-greatest breathing down my neck with the next question....

I sense that you have a medium helping you!

                  Round 58

Ivan and Ronnie are typing a list of the surnames of players who have competed in the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible.

However, they only have one English keyboard to share. Ivan is using the top row of letters (QWERTYUIOP) and Ronnie the other two rows. Only one person is allowed to type each surname.

Find how many names they can type. The winner will be whoever puts in a single post the most valid names (with no invalid names) before midnight UK time tonight (or the first person to list them all, if sooner).

Their friend Rodney demanded that it be that way. He was also particular that if one of them had access to N, S and H, he should not be able to use the O key.
