  • Congratulations snookersfun, The Statman and Monique for all contributing towards the answer.

The eight names are indeed: Black, Fagan, Hann, Mans, Small, Perry, Roe, Terry

I think that the closest, strictly speaking, to listing all eight in a single post was Monique - so congratulations!

    • ROUND CINQUANTE-NEUF

For a gorilla, Gordon is a superb snooker player and very popular with the lady gorillas. Today, one of them came up to him and explained that she has long been an ??????? of his, even though she is ??????? ! He blushed, but still gave her a nice bunch of ????????? before proceeding with giving me my weekly theoretical lesson on breakbuilding and techniques for ????????? angles to get out of snookers. He drew lots of lines on the blackboard, as though he were a ???????????? - it was like being back in ??? ????????? ! Anyway, I sat there while he spoke, and tried to stay ?????? and ?????? to it all. He is so good, that I ??????? that he will reign ??????? at the top of the Gorilla Snooker league for many a season to come!

Question marks within the same sentence represent anagrams - complete them here! One point for the first post to list at least four of the five pairs - a second point for the first post to list them all.

      • ROUND CINQUANTE-NEUF et voilà

For a gorilla, Gordon is a superb snooker player and very popular with the lady gorillas. Today, one of them came up to him and explained that she has long been an admirer of his, even though she is married ! He blushed, but still gave her a nice bunch of geraniums before proceeding with giving me my weekly theoretical lesson on breakbuilding and techniques for measuring angles to get out of snookers. He drew lots of lines on the blackboard, as though he were a ???????????? think I know what needs to go here, have no clue how to transform it to fit over there - it was like being back in ??? ????????? ! Anyway, I sat there while he spoke, and tried to stay silent and listen to it all. He is so good, that I presume that he will reign supreme at the top of the Gorilla Snooker league for many a season to come!

        • Congratulations, snookersfun, with one point for finding four out of five!

The next point is available to anyone who finds the final pair!

          • I shall copy below just the bit to be completed, with some extra line breaks, as I have noticed that in certain views, the first missing word can appear over 2 lines. The second anagram is indeed two words, as shown by the space.

A Miracle! I think I know this one:

              • Congratulations, very.tee, on getting the remaining point!!

I'm afraid (snookersfun and very.tee) that both of your points are mythical since the scoreboard was abandoned after something like round 41, unless anyone wants it resurrected?! :snooker:

                      • moglet has been very quick and solved this already - he sent his answer by Private Message but gets the imaginary point! (Or is that one imaginary point for each pair of anagrams? I don't know.)

Maybe we can award a quarter of an imaginary point to the second person to solve them then.

For each set of 3 letters below, find an English word (no proper nouns) containing the 3 letters together and in the same order. For example, if the 3 letters were RST you might, choose UNDERSTAND.

                              1. DTI
