  • I don't remember the first one today but the last (I hope that giving the last doesn't spoil this thread) that I just played in my car tonight was Dolly Parton's "To Daddy"... and before that her "Jolene". Both highy recommended.
"If anybody can knock these three balls in, this man can."
David Taylor, 11 January 1982, as Steve Davis prepared to pot the blue, in making the first 147 break on television.

Surely you must've heard Jolene? It's one of the most played songs of that particular genre...

Started out somewhat gently today, with Konstantin Wecker's "Was tat man den Mädchen".
Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!

              • It's the one that begins "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jole-ee-ee-ene..."

Don't remember the first one today, but right now, playing Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras No.5.

To be quite honest I don't think you've missed out on a lot

I've moved on to my folder of obscure Scottish folkrockish music

5 Hand Reel - The cruel brother

Not sure I approve of the last part of the song:

"An it's whit will ye leave tae yer brither John?"
"The rope an the halter tae hing him on!"
