  • Banned IP Address

Over Christmas I've been using my fathers laptop to visit TSF and I've noticed some threads give me the message 'your IP address has been banned. Please contact the administrator'.

Its stopping me from viewing some threads and I'm confused as to why I'm getting this message.

    Thanks!

Your IP address must be similar to Mr.Mugello's. Curtis will be able to explain this to you.

Regarding Mugello, it's possible to ban him from his MAC address at server level I think.

Is your dad's laptop connecting through the same modem as your normal PC?

If so, they'd have the same IP (which would be ok) unless your dad's laptop is going through a proxy server. Simplest way to find out would be to go www.whatismyip.com on both your PC and the laptop and see if they're different. PM me with the IPs and I'll have a look at our ban list and see if they clash with someone.

Strange that you mention it only happens on some threads though. Is there a consistent pattern to it that you've noticed or does it appear to be random?

Funnily enough, the last few weeks, I have not been able to access the green "Last page" spot of the Biggest Snooker Quiz, but, mysteriously, I am able to get to the first page and then click "Last" and get there fine!

Only seems to happen at home, never at work.
