  • Most users ever

I see the previous 'most online users' figure, which had been thought to be questionable, in January 2005 or whenever it was, has been superseded by a figure of 487 on 5 December 2006, at 4 o'clock in the morning, UK time.

    Is this really true?

Was there any significant event on at that time?
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

It was the Tuesday (Monday night) after the Premier League final on the Sunday, and also the first day's play in York (on the Monday) but the bit I am most suspicious of is the fact that, UK time, it was three o'clock in the morning!

I certainly wasn't one of them!

I believe that was when the server went down overnight, and no members could access it except myself, just because i am permenently logged in at work i think....

It was rather eerie being the only member logged onto the site at the time...

The 5th of december is Santa Claus' birthday over here, when he climbs the roof and put the presents through the chimney. I bet everyone stayed up to know what presents he/she is going to have. Not me though!

It was the '21 days before Christmas' office party for all those at World Snooker, who in their drunken state, decided to crash this site to see who was slagging their website off, only for someone to suddenly realise what time it was!!

(Stranger things have happened, like Dott winning the world title for example!)
