Well only for my car! I usually just listen to the radio anyway, but put the tape on if I'm driving through an area without a decent local station.

Put it this way: A choice between an advert for motor insurance or an admittedly old-fashioned rectangular object that yields You're the Voice by John Farnham – it's not difficult to choose!

The problem with tapes is that you can't skip a song but you have to fast forward it and hope you hit the right moment. Only a few songs I'd do that with, tho.

Nice selection, Statman! A bit too much mainstream pop for my liking but we could always change it to an Iron Maiden tape after a few songs . Just kidding!

I find that the B side of Tape 2 is indeed NOT what it says it is – so '74-'75 is a no-no!

What it actually contains surprised me. It is:

1 Eye of the Tiger Survivor
2 Total Eclipse of the Heart Bonnie Tyler
            3 Charmless Man Blur
            4 Easy Lionel Richie
            5 You Gotta Be Des'ree
            6 Africa Toto
            7 Tempted Squeeze
8 Road to Hell Chris Rea
            9 don't know yet!

I'd ride with you for any of those tapes Statman - fortunately I'm a 'middle of the road pop' person! Specially like The Rembrandts cos I love 'Friends', even after all these years.

                But it's still very good,Stat
I love Toto and also used to be a major Blur fan (still quite like them.)
At least your tape hasn't turned into a Queen tape

I can listen to anything as long as that isn't too loud!

Some of those songs are absolutely brilliant, some of those songs in my opinion aren't very good. So I'd listen to both tapes, but take quick naps in between good songs, with your permission, Mr. Statman, Sir. :-)

This is terrible, I really don't like the song. Now that I read this list, I can't get it out of my head.

Anyway, there are some good songs on the tapes and some songs I really don't like. I wouldn't be able to drive a car to Mr. Big ... hairy "hardrockers"

Now, I can even remember a few of the videos...

Good thing you removed it in time, though I wouldn't mind listening to a 'Best of' by Queen either.

                          Good Omens:
They drove back through the dawn, while the cassette player played J. S. Bach's Mass in B Minor, vocals by F. Mercury.

Cracks me up everytime. I need to read that book again ;-)

The last three songs are: Keep on Loving You (REO Speedwagon), Don't Look Back in Anger (Oasis) and – very bizarrely Blue (Da Ba Dee) (Eiffel 65) !!!

I love that Des'ree track. I have memories of getting a lift to school when I was about 14 on a summers morning and that song comes on the radio.
