What brought you here/Where are you promoting the site?

Where did you find out about the snooker forums and where are you promoting them to get more members?

I found out about them from Sheffield Forum and have so far promoted them on SkyScraperCity forums, where I am a frequent poster - over 3,600 posts in less than a year

I came from the newsgroup alt.sport.snooker
And i'm more than glad that i left!!! Forget posting any questions there, more often that not you end up getting abused and basically just run out of town.

They all think they're the worlds best players, and yet i've never seen any of them on a tv match.

No complaints so far. We'll see what it's like when the numbers get into the high hundreds.
At the rate the site is going the memberships should be over 100 before christmas.

But is it possible to tell me something...Does anyone know what happened to the Green Baize snooker site? It was pretty similar to this one, with an emphasis on forums. I was away for a while, then came back and it had disappeared.

What is this green baize website, i'd never heard of it. Was it a big snooker forum website, how many members did it have?

I don't know how many members the Green Baize had, but it was popular. Some of the posters and the guy who ran it seemed pretty well connected - Terry Griffiths answered some members questions and even switched on the site's Christmas lights There was a planned interview with ref Michaela Tabb that may have happened before it bit the dust, I'm not sure.

I was curious about why it shut down because I heard something about the closure being due to legal reasons, and there was quite a lot of gossipping about various players going on from people who appeared to be in the know, so....

Anyway I'll shut up about it now and enjoy this site

If worldsnookerforums stays nice and respectable, I see no reason why it can't be the leading site for snooker discussion and have high profile posters aswel. It's just going to take patience and for us to spread the good word.
I don't really know about 'Green Baize' but if I happen to find anything i'll be sure and post it.

Hey all again! I was moderator on the Green Baize site Q-tip yes i remember you It was a great site, i really enjoyed moderating you all too The guy who owned it Francis Leadbitter decided that he didn't want to run it anymore, and so it closed down, shame really it had over 500 members, but hey things move on, and site looks great, and i really hope it has the success that the green baize had...and more, i posted well over a 1000 posts on there so watch out I'm happy to take a back seat from now on, i've voiced my opinions enough!!!
