Reputation

I'm still new here and this is a newbie kind of question so I figured this was the appropriate place to post.

I looked in the FAQ briefly, but found no info regarding......

Reputation. What purpose does this serve? When might I add to someones reputation, does their post have to be an outstanding piece of art or do we just add to others reputations for any post that is not abusive/rude/crude/disgusting?
And...is there penalties/rewards for this reputation system?

Reputation is only there for fun really I think, its a bit like the negatives and possitives on eBay.

E.g. if you ask someone, how to improve your game, and the reply with an excellent detailed report, they disearve good reputation. Although if someone tells you to f*** off or something, they desearve bad.

You add to someones reputation by clicking on the weighing scales on the bottom left of the post.

I don't think anyone here has had a bad rep as yet. Still a bit short on members. But how would we know? Can we view other members rep points or is it just Administrator that can?

The other forums I frequent have spammers banned and people brigged, but this is the first one i've came across with a reputation level!

How many forums to you frequent??? Are they all billiard related?
I'm struggling enough with worldsnookerforums. Fortunately this forum has an easy to use format. I've seen other forums that look like dogs breakfast.

This is the only snooker/billiards board I visit, the other ones are SkyscraperCity and an array of local ones (Corby and Sheffield)

The only other boards I visit are boards.ie - a collection of boards for Irish people. They use reputation too but I never found a way to view someone elses reputation status.

You cant actually view someone elses reputation number, but is you hover your cursor over this little green square un the join date on the left hand side it will tell you their reputation they have.
