That just looks like a bit of frost which shouldn't be unheard of in Canada but two inches of snow, winds blowing trees down, power cuts and flooding in the middle of may in the south west of England is a bit silly - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-22536139
It depends where in Canada for snow in May. Not a normal thing in Southern Ontario where I live but on the same day Timmins in Northern Ontario got 32cm (around 1ft) of snow.
Meanwhile, out west is was in the mid-20C. Today they're saying +23 for me.
