I am 100% sure that is a draw. When you do not nominate a pocket and pot the black, you lose! It should be 3-3 (draw).

I have been playing Y! Pool for years. Even in official Y! Tourneys not nominating the pocket and potting the ball is considered game lost.

I just played with danny. I made a lot of mistakes and he easily won the first 3 frames. In the 4th (I think it was the 4th... ) I accidentally sent the black in, in the middle of the game. I managed to get the 5th, and finally the 6th, after attempting the black 5 times!! Final score, danny 4 - 2 Nina.
Very good game for danny, congrats from me!

Thanks Nina. Although protesting that she was just a newbie Nina strung some great pots together to threaten a clearance in the opening frame. So from there my concentration and ruthlesness was stepped up to take a 4-0 lead. Nina played well to win the fifth and didnt miss a gifted chance in the last after a dreadfull miss by myself.

I played Davis Greatest immediately after this. There was an obvious change of pace straight away. Just like his hero, he was dictating the pace of the game, leaving few chances, and there was little i could do about it, he was playing very methodically, very tactically, with some very good safety.

It was a long drawn out affair, with not much to choose between us. Some brilliant safety from DG and some good escapes and replies from myself. DG was 3-2 ahead, and then halfway through the last frame DG unluckily potted the black out of turn to gift me a draw.

You mean you used to nominate the pocket but pot the black in some other pocket???

When we have been nominating and pocketing the black in the nominated pocket, how can we not be followinf Yahoo Pool rules?

Player A and B both think black was going in pocket 1. Player A forgets to click pocket 1, pots black in pocket 1, and both players A and B agree that player A wins.

In this case, screw yahoo pool rules, and let player A win.

Ok. In this case when Player B does not care about the rules and thinks Player A wins, then there should be no problem.

However, as per the rules a player potting the black has to pot it in the nominated pocket to win or he loses the game.

elvaago - sorry but im going to stick my oar in on this one. I think you are complicating the issue. Rules are rules, and as this tournament is hosted on Y! we are all playing by their rules. Whatever the Y! decides is a foul or a win or loss cannot and should not be overridden. As Y! becomes the ref, their decision should be final.

However here, Player B thinks he lost the game and he himself awards the game to Player A. So its like conceding the game.
If I was Player B, I would not agree to it. As the correct pocket has to be nominated to win the game.

I agree with dannyd0g - if the player forgot to nominate the correct pocket, and the rules are that he must do so, then he must forfeit the frame. It sounds like the arrow was over pocket X but you both "knew" he was going for pocket Y. What if he had missed pocket Y, and the black had somehow gone into pocket X where the arrow was? Would you have said that the striker should lose the frame?


Clearly it was an error in forgetting to nominate, but an error is an error, and we've all lost frames due to errors (probably excluding RaNeN and perhaps Ellena here), and can't ignore some and not others.

Well..in my opinion if Chas made a mistake and forgot to mark the pocket then he lost the frame. So the score should be 3-3 not 4-2. Same thing happened to Nina in the match we've played last week ...and we counted that frame as lost for her and a win for me . Same should go for Chas-Marc match now , otherwise it wouldnt be fair to Nina ..or others who made same mistake and lost the respective frame ...
Or, are there new rules i dunno 'bout ?!

If we are to "screw Yahoo pool rules" and do as we damn well please, then I'd like the score in my game against Ellena to be changed. And in some other games probably - oh and I'm sure there will be some other sore loser in the league who will want the same... I didn't realise we can forget about the rules and alter the results when I was playing, or trust me, I would have! I love to cheat if I can get away with it!

In all seriousness now, either we will all play by the same rules (which are made to be kept) or let's just screw the whole idea.

I see the table has been updated today, but has not included my match with DG. I guess the update might have been missed as i bundled it in with the one about Nina's match.

I agree. I have read your replies and I'm sure chassmi has too. I didnt expect so much controversy here. I agree that the same rules should apply to everyone, and I also believe that the fair thing to do is follow the Y! Pool rules just like everyone else.This happening isnt a very nice way of winning or losing a frame but after our match had finished chassmi and I weren't quite sure on all this, but im pleased its' been cleared up.

This is a great league!

Hehe DG...you're to nice. Trust me i've made mistakes too , its true i've never forgot to nominate the pocket but i 've made others and when i made them i lost the frame of course . For ex i potted the black prematurely , tho it was obvious it wasnt my intention at all to do that , still it went in nutting i could do 'bout it .lol
I agree with Ran , it is a great league , so lets keep it all fun like its been till now!
