I like old school type metal, like Iron Maiden etc. 'Hair metal' air guitar stuff basically. Also Chili Peppers etc. I sometimes go to goth/metal clubs. Also like indie, punk, and some dance including electroclash (especially Peaches, who did a song recently with Iggy Pop.)
Personally, I find the correlation of snooker players to metal music fans to be higher than the general public to metal fans. I guess both are seen in the same category i.e. extreme boredom to the untrained ear but infinitely rewarding to those in the know...
Strewth! I've never heard of those bands sonny! Cryptopsy? That just sounds lovely!!
I'll go download a song from one of your bands and see what type of mind rotting music you're into
Do you actually listen to this stuff while playing snooker?
It's all death metal and related. Cryptopsy are from Canada and play very very fast and technical metal whereas Arcturus are very deep, intelligent, dark and melodic, then Meshuggah are very mathematically oriented and are about as good a set of musicians as it's possible to get - to the untrained ear they are noise, to those in the know they are bloody amazing!
Not quite to my liking, but i'd rather listen to industrial than that crap they call music at these "raves" where they pop pills and suck lollipops. You'd need to be on drugs to listen!
I used to be strictly into anything that wasnt pop, I detested the stuff (rebellious old me eh!) I even had an anti Britney Spears club on Yahoo at one point. Not sure if censors will allow the name, but it was called the ****ney Britney club. I had over 450 members until some nasty bugger deleted it. But by that time, i'd grown up!
Don't mind pop so much now, but prefer rock, punk and indie, bit of metal as well.
Favourite bands of the minute are Muse, Blink 182, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Morrissey, Snow Patrol, The Hives, The Strokes - that kind of thing.
