you would connect that cardreader (including inserted memory card of the camera) instead of the camera. Makes downloading much easier.

Oh Damn! I should have understood!!! A card reader refers to a memory card! My digicam does not have a memory card! It has inbuily memory! Maybe I'll have to buy an expensive one now.

RaNeN, what do you want to use this 'thing' for? I don't think any serious camera comes with built in memory card only. I got a few of those (as freebies), but none of them have any noteworthy resolution so to speak of.

If you'ld want to use it as a web-cam you'ld need to get the PC to recognise it. Often instruction booklets specify to attach camera first before trying to install any driver software at all.

Maybe mine is similar to the freebie one. I need to buy a new one soon. I'll make sure I buy one with a memory card.
