  • Message from Snookerlass

Hi all, little did I know that after being on a high after watching Matthew Stevens win his match on Sunday which I attended, that on Wednesday my life would be shattered.
My sons girlfriend was visiting her family in America, and was due to fly back to GB Thursday morning, when she was killed by a drunk driver driving a lorry.
Her injuries were horrific, and if she had survived she would have lost both her legs. She was a lovely girl only 20 years old, and had her whole life ahead of her,I loved her dearly and are struggling to come to terms with her death.
I can't eat sleep or stop crying, I'm a complete mess as so is my son.
You here a lot about drink driving but don't realise how badly it affects the family and friends of those who are killed.
I needed to talk to someone so I hope you don't mind that I have pored my heart out to you
I can't think of anything else at the moment than poor Bailey, I miss her terribly. Take care all. Lorraine

I went throught a similar situation a few years back. I was hit by a drunk driver and it killed my new born baby in the car with me. I blamed myself for a long time and hated the world. Just remember that she is at a better place now and that you do have the chance to see her again. I wish for you and your son the best and if need someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to message me.

very sorry to read your sad news....

words will only be of little comfort at the moment, but take each day as it comes, and follow your emotions. let it out if need be, and if you want to share, places like this can be some sort of release.

                      take care of yourself.

thoughts with you and your son...

There is not a lot anyone can say except our heartfelt condolences to families. It sickens me that drunk drivers may only lose their licence and may be jailed for a short time, i dont know how people like that can live with themselves.

Whilst I have never been religious or a churchgoer, i do believe that after life there is a better life out there and i believe that your sons girlfriend will be in a better place and would want you to remember her for the nice times and the qualities she had as a person.

My suggestion is you name a star after her (check the internet), then you know you can look up at her and she can look down at you and you will never be apart

                        Best Wishes

It is a sad loss. And no words can ever compensate it, I am afraid.

In the year 2000 I was on the brink of passing away and my daughter did not have the courage anymore to visit me, afraid her dad would die. The coin flipped on the right side and I came through.

Be there for your son. forever and ever.
