I just played RaNeN in our match.

frame 1 RaNeN never missed a pot 1-0
frame 2 RaNeN never missed a pot again 2-0
frame 3 RaNeN won the frame on the black 3-0
frame 4 Marc cleared up well and won his first frame 3-1
frame 5 Marc got a bit more confidence and cleared up 5 balls and the black to win 3-2
frame 6 Marc once again cleared up well to win and make a nice comeback to level the match at 3-3
frame 7 Marc was delighted to see RaNeN pot the black early in the frame, for me to take a lead 4-3 (cheers mate)
frame 8 RaNeN needed this frame for a draw the match, and once again he just turned on the magic and hardly missed a pot he attempted.

I would also suggest that if Lee has indeed decided to drop out then it might be better to knock the quarter final on the head and just have a top four making the semis instead.


(Unless we wish to dabble in things like second group stages and having 6 qualify, which are then split into 2 groups of 3, each plays the other two once and the group winners contest the final )

I know lots of dead matches are not great but having 8 out of 11 qualify would cause the same problem in reverse. What do others think.

I like the idea of having 2 groups of 3 as a Phase 2. Then the top players play the final?

Firstly, My match report.
I raced to a 3-0 lead in no time. Marc played well to make it 3-1. I tried to play well but Marc played better!!!! 3-2 now......A easy miss by me and Marc showed me he is'nt gonna go down easy....3-3. I was now under real pressure, I wanted to win!
Frame 7: I broke, black in, Marc win!(LOL)

Frame 8: Maybe if this was a real match, I would'nt be able to play, I would have been shivering like a leaf. Thank God!!! It wasnt a real match, I won the frame and drew the match! Yay!!!

After the 1st 3 frames I was like a Rocket which could not be stopped but then emerged another Rocket which showed that if a rocket cannot be stopped it can surely be overtaken and that reached the minimum target of 4 frames in no time and I was stuck in the PIT STOP!!! Then I realised I was'nt firing on all cylinders so I lit the last cylinder and there I was finally able to catch up.
(Ok...Ok....I know it does not make sense!!)

I for one dont like the idea of 2 groups of 3 - it would be just my luck to drawn in with Ranen and Ellena. It would be hard to make it fair. I vote for just the top 4 go through to semi finals again.

The top 6 we have wont be split into 2 groups like the top 3 and the bottom 3. I think we could have {1,3,5} as Group 1 and {2,4,6} as Group 2.

Just wondering, How will 3 players play in a group?? 2 matches each?

Yeah my thought would be to have each player play the others so it is two matches each. It would be better to have group 1 as (1,4,6) and Group 2 as (2,3,5) as The league winner should have an advantage for the next round. Or somebody could draw the groups with three seeded pots of A: 1+2, B:3=4 and C: 5+6

I think the best thing would be to put it too a vote with each entrant getting a say:

I as usual started well couldnt be consistent.

I find the 2 groups idea a little complicated to be honest, whereas going straight to the semis seemed simple the previous time.
But then again, I'm not in the top 6 so don't mind the old senile lady...
