  • Marc 6 v davis_greatest 2

Frame 1 after a bout of safety play, and nervy shots from both players, i managed to win a tight black ball game. 1-0

I then potted well to take the next frame, 2-0

Frame 3 with the black over the pocket waiting for me and an impossible pot for davis, he played a brilliant screw back shot to move the black away from the pocket (shot of the championship so far) he then potted his last ball and then the black to make the score 2-1

Frame 4,more safety play from Mr davis, but i managed a long good pot on the black to make it 3-1

Mr davis started playing quicker, and the quicker he played the more balls he started to pot. he took the frame easy... 3-2

I managed to win the next 3 frames, i cant remember much about them but again, lots of safety was played and i think i was lucky enough to pot a few good shots at crucial moments to nick the frames!

Well played Mr Davis...It was a tough match for me as it always is against such a tactition as yourself sir!.. i was glad to get through it.. Good luck in your remaining matches.

    over and out!

    • Hehehe, well played Marc indeed, sir - and a great report too. Obviously it goes without saying that to get such a result against such a brilliant opponent is an amazing achievement, but I'll say it anyway. So well done!

Good luck in your remaining matches too. Maybe I'll have the opportunity for revenge in the semis, or last 6, or last 13 knock-out stage, or whatever we have in the end...

          Hi onforthe147,

I don't know flyordie to compare, but this is a league of Yahoo pool, which is a good game. Yahoo pool can be played either on the Yahoo website (don't have the link but it would be under Games, Pool... not hard to find) or by installing Yahoo Messenger. (Typing Yahoo Messenger into google brings up links pretty quickly.)

This current league is about halfway through, so I suspect may be a little late to join this time (? - or ask chasmmi / RaNeN) but certainly look out for a thread starting the next league after this one is finished, and sign up!

          • Austrian Girl vs dannyd0g match report

I had a chance to take the first frame but didnt concentrate hard enough. Missed a sitter on my penultimate shot and AG cleared up. In frame 2 I managed to angle myself on my penultimate shot, played a bad supposed containing shot, AG again played solidly and cleared up.. Then I missed a tough pressure black in game 3 again allowing AG to clear up.

By frame 4 i was loosing confidence and played badly loosing it again to AGs solid play. I Forget what happened in game 5 but AG continued to play solidly and reliably to take match ball and secure her crucial 5th frame.

Strangely I suddenly started playing better at 5-0 down. Put a few good pots and nice breaks together and won the next 3, although of course it was all far too late.

            Congratulations AG.

            Final result AG 5 dannyd0g 3.

            • Alex0paul v Marc

A match that took two days to complete saw a nervy first day as neither play could forge a substantial lead as it ended 2-2. However after Alex took a 3-2 lead he had a chance to steal a frame with a clearance but bottled the final stripe. Marc won the frame and then won the next with a couple of flucks to go 1 up with 1 to play, 4-3. The final frame was a long frame mainly due to Yahoo constantly crashing but with Marc looking a dead cert to clinch a 5-3 win Alex pulled off the most extraordinary fluke before potting the last two balls to get the draw. 4-4 and a fair result.

                • Sorry for not posting a match report earlier but I'm in bed with a stomach bug at the moment. Forgive me, if this will be very short.

There is not much I can add to danny's report. I took the first five frames, every time coming from behind and clearing up, except in frame 5 where i underhit a black in front of the pocket (most ridiculous shot of the league so far ) but, luckily for me, danny fouled on the black and handed me the frame. After that, it was all danny's, unfortunately for him, one frame too late.

                            • Hope you are feeling better now AG.

I agree that Lee is out as he doesnt seem to be coming back. Ive tried contacting him via Yahoo messenger and also email to no avail. It must have been Davis_Greatest's safety play that put him off.

@ DrLOG I'm due to play you next (after you have played Marc) ; Any idea when you might be able to make it ?

@Marc - how do you know when someone has received pager messages ? (sometimes i wonder whether they have been sent ok as you dont get any acknolwedgement of anything)

                              • Im not sure if the pager messages work as they should or not, but when you click on them, it tells you when they were sent and recieved but maybe they dont work correctly.
