    Coldplay - Viva la vida.

Many friends of mine have said, its more of the same, but I have downloaded it today, and its containing some smashing music. Its better than X&Y. I especially like the viva la vida song, number 7 on the album.

Kate Nash - Made of Bricks.

I especially like her performing live (Pinkpop 2008, been there) where she is so much better than on the cd. Though she is not having a lot of respect for her former boyfriends.

    The Kooks - Konk.

They performed in Sheffield on the last saturday night in Sheffield (The championship that is) and regretted i did not visit the venue (just opposite The Crucible).

      Coldplay - Viva La Vida

its an ok album, its nothing new from a band that promised more experimental tracks. I watched Jonathan Ross last night too, and dunno if anyone got the feeling but they seemed like they were miming, the music was too polished for it to be live.
Also, I want to talk about the interview controversy with Chris Martin walking out of.
heres the link to it, http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7452341.stm
So the interviewer is asking him good questions about the album, and the guy is just not listening to the questions. He just thinks the interviewer is ****ting on his lyrics and music, whereas the whole album in my opinion is about death. To walk out is so childish its unbelievable, he needs a rocket up his ass!
Anyway the lyrics are pretty awful coming from a 'supposed lyrical genius'.

Right sorry for that rant, my favouit album ive been listening to this week is Holographic Universe by Scar Symmetry. Bloody insane is all Ill say!! Catchy, melodic but still retaining the rawness of metal! Superb album.

I agree with you the album is not innovative. Where Muse produced quite different albums, Coldplay seem to be stuck in the same mode. Yes, walking out, gets to their heads, innit, all the success. Like Ronnie.

It would have been very clever if it was a deliberate publicity stunt as it gets their album into the news. I dont think it was a calculated stunt though, just a bit of a good old fashioned pop star tantrum.

Back on topic has anyone heard Ida Maria ?.

This is a great band from Norway with great songs whose singer has a great voice, kind of a bit like a cross between Cerys from Catatonia and Bjork. Theyve played live in Manchester a few times and are really great. Debut album out next month.

A taster - I've been hooked on them ever since i first saw them on Later with this performance :

If you like that sorta thing, you might wanna give Sigur Ros a listen. They did a song that was on Planet Earth called Hoppipola (hopping in puddles).

Sigue Ros are well worth a listen. Two bands that could do quite well in the next few months are Subways and Glasvegas.

                    Glastonbury Festival

live tonight on BBC2 and BBC3. The big bands are lacking (apart from the Editors who were mediocre) but I like Jay Zzzzzzzzz tonight. I am not a rap fan at all but his show is pretty awesome! Especially f... bush was pretty nice. Also recorded Amy Winehouse who was completely p@ssed as usual!

Might be friends and booze around that does the trick!!

Yes, I think Amy in all honesty now wont see next year with the way she's carrying on. She kept on mumbling about her husband during some songs, then proceeded to punch someone in the audience!

                      Shes just a cockney halfwit.

But yeah this year has been poor, KOL were miserable, Editors were ****e.

The only good has been We Are Scientists and The Gossip so far.

Also the sound was atrocious. Had it with Editors and the wombats sounded gruesome as well!!

Pity 2pac is not alive! Really wanted to do him a Glastonbury! Best ever rapper. Dear Mama!

And unconditional love! Thats so nice!!
