It was an interesting race today! I'm glad that Kubica has only broken leg... could be much worse! Cogratulations to Hamilton, he's amazing!

Has anyone else lost interest in F1? Hamilton is from Stevenage - not to far from me - so I ought to be a bit more supportive.

Sorry but I just can't warm to Hamilton, I think it's because he has been groomed for years by Ron Dennis and hasn't really had to struggle to get into Formula 1
It was great to see Heidfeld and Wurz on the Podium, and scoring points for the team.

Dan i think you have the wrong end of the stick there mate! the popularity of F1 has grown incredibly in the uk since lewis hamilton burst onto the scene! When schumacher was dominating it became quite boring, now that we have many drivers who have the potential to win it its far more interesting! I wudda thought that you being local to lewis there would be alot of support going his way round the area!

I agree imy147 about what you said about Schumy, he did indeed dominate the sport for too long, but when you consider the money Ferrari spent compared to the smaller teams it's not surprising.
I have followed Formula 1 for years and admit sometimes I found it boring, but now Schumy's retired it's a hole new ball game. There is a great battle in store which is very exciting from a fans point of view, but as yet I'm not going to put any money on who will be World Champion.
It is a cracking start to the season, and long awaited.

The season has been the worst since 2002 for me, yes the championship is close at the sharp end but every race so far has been processional and until today, devoid of any excitement whatsoever.

Ive watched F1 since 84 and for many years didnt miss a race. Sadly it really is true that the best car wins and has been true for some time. Lewis is fortunate to have come into F1 in what is very likely the best car. This takes nothing away from his acheivements mind you, he has been impressive.

Its the hype that bothers me most (particularly James Allen on ITV1 - who did he sleep with to get the job eh?). He seems to handle it well, but the whole frenzy shows no signs of abating. For his next trick Lewis will walk on water. I wish they'd let him get on with it.

Finally as others have mentioned, really feared for Robert Kubica when i saw his accident, thankfully he sounds OK. Coming away with just a broken leg from that is quite incredible.

Congrats to Lewis, but IMHO it was a boring race because of that many safety car stages...now Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa in Catalonia GP, that was great!

I watched some of the highlights last night - the commentator is awful. Can he not think of something better to say at the start?! I ended up watching more of Mel C at the Isle of Wight featival than the F1. lol! The rolling stones who would have thought it in 2007....

By far the best race I have seen in a very long time! I mean Massa getting disqualified, Hamilton winning, button not even starting and Kubica flipping the car! And Sato finishing 6th! Cracking race!

                        - @ dingshot - Bit pointless posting that....

The british grand prix this weekend, and I would almost bet money on Hamilton winning the race. hes also just grabbed a dramatic pole position.

I think last weekend that Magny Cours track suited the Ferraris, partly because of the smooth surface from the relaid tarmac. I think they have a chance tomorrow, but the McLaren is probably the better car. Also remember that McLaren have always tested at Silverstone on a regular basis. And i think the crowd will give Lewis some extra speed to beat the Ferraris?

                              Lets hope so!!
