  • Like I said before terry your funny,I voted leave because immigration is rife, the eu overuled UK laws and make their own and expect us to obey them, and three we are subsidising poorer countries and the eu beurocrats. You don't live here you don't know how bad it's been for over ten years.

This may be of some concern for you then Jim . . .

      • Good point Jim ironically most people just want what Canada has - freedom to set its own laws freedom to trade with everyone and maybe a points system to help control immigration

I must be missing something on this vote to leave as no-one actually voted to join the Eu as it is which is very different from just being in the single market for trade.
They imposed the Lisbon treaty and stole people's democracy through the back door really. I think perhaps more countries will vote to leave or would not have voted to join if they had a chance to.

The turkeys had no choice in he matter then either but if they had a choice would they want to live like the chickens?

            • France, under De Gaulle, voted twice to reject the UK's membership. Jim...you said and posted on FB over and over again you agreed with the claim that if things stayed the same Britain will become a Muslim country which is hardly likely given the small minority of Muslims in the country overall. You also said Sheffield is being 'overrun' with Muslims and you disagreed with what was (is) happening in Sheffield.

Now it appears if the UK leaves the free movement of people between the UK and EU will be one of the key negotiating issues and in reality nothing will really change. The UK will still be able to regulate non-EU immigration just like they do now. For instance in one of your postings from the Daily Mail it said the UK had only taken somewhere around 1,900 Syrian refugees as of that date. For a country of around 70million that's a pretty small number.

Byrom is right in saying not a whole hell of a lot will change as far as immigration policy is concerned but I believe a whole lot will change in the economic arena and not for the better for the UK.

However, I see the financial markets are recovering somewhat today, they lost over 3% because of Brexit but as of right now they are back up around 1%, so not a total loss. We in North America will not be isolated from the effects of Brexit and it has already effected us in a negative way.

Brexit was about immigration but in today's world Britain will not be able to control it the way you want to unless they withdraw from the world stage and the world economy. There hasn't been a GREAT Britain since around 1850 when Britain ruled half the world. All the taxes imposed by Britain on the colonies are gone now with the American colonies leading the way in 1776.

The EU has kept the peace in Europe for over 50 years and I would hate to see it go away. Up until then there was never a period in history when there wasn't a war in Europe although Britain was not involved in some them. There were a lot of issues regarding leaving the EU which were never put accurately to the British public or if they were. the statement by Brexit was 'you can't believe the experts', but you should believe Boris and his crew.

                • Terry it was Cameron that gambled, he was so scared of a mass Tory shift to UKIP , he promised the referendum because he thought there was no way he could lose, he would rather have power than stick to his principles.

                  • All we are seeing now is project fear 2.0, in the hope of forcing eu referendum 2.0. That, and a bucket load of sour grapes.

Gentlemen, hold your nerve. We'll be just fine.

They took the secure corporate and government jobs with the guaranteed pay rises and final salary pension schemes and benefited from property they bought cheap and sold dear. They burnt the bridges behind them by colluding with the dismantling of the very things that had brought them prosperity. Their last act will be to burn the economy before they die" Harsh but fair?

Can't disagree with the comments about Baby Boomers, interesting if that is right across the majority of that generation, it does seem to be in my neck of the woods now I think of it......

The google phone app is just a different interface for google search. so let me google that for you:
                                http://lmgtfy.com/?q=is+england+a+muslim+country%3F

5% of the population. So the answer to that would be "No, it's a country with Muslims in it."
