Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings - I'm overwhelmed!!
Just got back from Dubrovnik this afternoon after a wonderful holiday. Yes Paul, thanks for reminding me about the free bus pass, also here in Manchester free Metro and local trains. There has to be some benefits to getting old!

Well, you mentioned it yourself. I dd not have a clue if you get to 60, you get a free bus pass . Another prime example of superb legislation, though second to the smoking ban.

Is it all restored after the war, it used to be a very beautiful city!

Signs of old age already, I'd forgotten I'd mentioned the bus pass to you first!

Dubrovnik is more or less restored, and it is very beautiful. We stayed in a hotel overlooking the old town and the bay with a ten minute walk down, (20 mins back up!) absolutely brilliant location it has to be one of the most interesting places I've ever been to.

Have you ever been to Toscane or Umbrie? You wont know what you are getting into! It is one big paradise!! The same applies for Catalunya in Spain. A few years more and I am off!
