It is amazing that you know so much stuff Paul! I really have no idea which type of raisins this rosé is made of. It is a pity that my relevant knowledge about wine remains zero all the time, maybe should think of taking over my neighbour's vigne to start to learn!

I think it is a blend of pinot minieur, pinot gris and pinot noir. subtle, fresh and round full taste I would say. I normally drink rose only in spring, summer or sunny autumn day as well. La Palma rose from chile is one of my favourites and Chateau puy servaine, Bergerac, but cannot get the last one here.

        Salut!

Berolina, when you are not staying too far from The Alsace, visit The Muellenbach cellars in Niedermorschwir. Wonderful wines and they are so charming, you'll be walking upside down out of the cellar!. Oops, sorry, just noticed you are in Berlin!

Stored some as well, but more the hug department, have not come to use here

          I've stored them

Its more about reading and I pop in on the Beeb food board once in a while. There is a distinguished member IanisinFrance (lives in the dordogne) who has been a manager of wine cellars for 20 years. Learn a lot from him and very friendly suave type! .

            Albente Irpinia Bianco

i bought a case of this recently on a recommendation from a friend who is an italian wine importer, works out at £10 a bottle and it is superb, like a complex pinot grigio - easily one of the nicest non french white wines i have ever come across but needs to be cold. i had it with a seafod pasta and the 8 people at the table all agreed it was stunning.

Interesting. I have read recently there are some good quality wines coming up in the south of italy. Silicy started to produce some excellent wines as well over the last 5 years (For instance Mandrarossa estate). I recently had a superb white one from Sardinie, Santadi Villa Volais Vermentino di Sardegna. 7 quid.

Just looked on the web, but think cannot get yours here.

              Cheers!

not tried the sardine one but i might give that a go - the sicilly ones are often a bit heavy for me.

the red ones might be. The Mandrarossa Chardonnay is therefore quite light and refreshing, not that full in the face like the australian chardonnay.

i didn't mean that - just a general thought i was having - i sort of know my way around the french wines but not so hot elsewhere, its a good excuse to go wine shopping!

Okay, on the wrong slurp, track.

Seems endless nowadays, as more regions are available. Well, The more the merrier!

Especially with the Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc these days. Swamped with it. (I know little about whites and not into reds at all).

I should have known earlier, but my holidays are already planned. So it's back to Reims again, checking out Lanson and Veuve Cliquot. Maybe next year.
btw there are some wines from Berlin, dunno about the cellars though, wine must be totally sour, I guess
