  • The famous German dope expert Franke is really accusing Spain justice of manupulating the Fuentes list where the name of Contador was once on and this by making him a 'witness' instead of a suspect. I looked for the original ZDF report but I don't undertand everything in it.

And Iban Mayo was found positive -on epo- as well and is fired today by his team Saunier Duval.

I think it' s time to close this thread or we will end without a Tour winner

    • We didn't have a winner last year. Not a big deal!

You are so right. A total farce. I´m having a hard time, after deciding not to use any of my time on cycling anymore. I just don´t believe in all those old managers from the epo generation. ON danish tv Brian Holm from Telekom was asked, if he believed in the winner. And instead of just saying, that it was difficult when he was involved in operation Puerto, he just talked bull****--- and that team is supposed to be clean. They all cover each other.

I have to learn to be polite.

yeah still and written before : Sad and frustrating is also that East European countries the initiators of dope in the Olympic Games and in the whole world were never punished.
During the World cup last year not a single doping test was done. Why has Zidane never been checked after he - like a madman attacked Materazzi in the final of the WC ?? What drug did he take ?
And weren' t some Greek athletes tested positive on drugs in their discipline in the last OG in Athens ?? So ban their sport as well.
At least the Tour the France is in war with cheating - can't be said about other sports.
And Kazachstan behaving like a 'victim' after Vino was tested positive - a political issue they said
to punish their poor, hard working Kazach - poor people, 100 year behind. Germany already banned Astana from their Tour, because they found the Astana behaviour 'hypocrit'.

Don't ban the sport ban the cheaters..in every sport.

Don't know why you are so obsessed of accusing Eastern European countries Wim, but history tells that the first dope users that have been found guilty since the controls were introduced in Olympic Games were not from Eastern Europe, and also drugs were used by athletes from all over the world.

                • I must say that I kind of liked this years TdF. Everyday something new: doping, missed tests, riders thrown out, accidents, blood doping It has been more exciting than in previous years

                  • Did you know that during the tour 6 proffessional track and field athletes tested positive for drugs, why wasn't that on the news? The media just hate cycling >=(

I watched the stages in London, we were on Trafalgar square watching on the big screen when Robbie Mcewen won, was fantastic.
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

                    • "Mark Cavendish becomes only the second British rider to win two stages of the Tour de France in the same year, with a searing sprint finish in Toulouse" (from the BBC)

Something to be proud of in the UK me think What a finish !! amazing the easiness how the Columbia -team rider won this stage. But it has to be said that the blue lead out train of Quick Step (Innergetic) failed again to bring Steegmans in good position.
Let s see how they will do on Monday anyway - a fantastic day in the (high) mountains is programmed (Tourmalet)

                      • So 'Rocket' Ricco was quite impressive the way he accelerated on the Col d'Aspin and a very deserved winner of the stage. Tomorrow a mega day with the Tourmalet and the finish on Hautacam...so there will be 'war in the mountains' I guess.

Our living legend and Flemish hero Tommeke Boonen was banned from the Tour for the use of cocaine in May. Though this was out of competition and it isn't a dope that improves ones physical condition of course, the Tour was too concerned about their clean image to allow him to ride this year.
