If you like Sean Connery then The Hill and The Molly Maguires are both excellent films.

and many many more, but far more books that haven't yet made it into films, especially sci fi but hollywood has been too busy the last decade with Marvel comics to make anything more substantial.
But Blade Runner 2 coming soon read the book many years ago now, don't know if it's the same though.
And here we have a film buff - Paths of Glory is superb.

Angels with dirty faces was a decent Cagney film, the end scene stayed with me for a while when I first saw it.

I can't hear Stand by me , without the family guy version popping into my head, which I think was far better anyway.

He is a brilliant author who became very poplar with movies likes Silver Bullet , Carrie , Pet Sematary . Others adapted his fantasy and ideas . therefore i consider him as one of the founding fathers for , horror , supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction,.

                        Number 1 : Sir Alfred Hitchcock. ( A real genius ).

This thread has gone 6 pages without veering wildly off topic, can't have that.

The Running Man by Richard Bachman is a brilliant book, but it's well known in literary circles that Stephen King can't write an ending.

I love dystopian futuristic stories, they make the present slightly easier to take.

District 9 and Elysium make the list for that reason. That South African guy makes both of them though. "ywant to cum to maah hause, and fahk things aahp?" Hollywood can suck it.
