  • What is the best colour on a snooker table?

    (and why?)

For me its the blue. I tend to score most points on it, being the easiest of angles after a red! As I am not always on the black!

i'm in favor of the blue as the most important ball as its central on the table and can be potted in all pockets if running short of position if you know what i mean
So it's Rorschach and Prozac and everything is groovy

well... the round object does send an information of visible spectrum to the eyes so the brain could categorise this object as being of a white colour
that aside, i think the white is more important then any colour cos, again, what would you do without it

I would say the black - how could you achieve the maximum without it?

I tend to pot well with the pink so thats my choice. I like setting up an angle so I can roll through and split the reds off the pink. I think the chances of a good split are higher than going in to the pack from the black which needs immense cue power to avoid the chances of running out of position. I like slamming in to the reds from the blue as well. So satisfying when it works out

Its nice to disturb the pack from a baulk colour too after sending it round the angles.

Red I pot it more often that the others :P
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

I'd say the black or anything on the black spot, since i had all my 40+ breaks on colors spotted on the black spot
