sun lotion (trust me on the sun lotion, remember?), Mark Selby (no, surprise! not Neil)), he looks like an interesting bloke, hope he can cook) and just changed my mind about the book, so now it is some puzzle book
1 book, 1 other thing and 1 snooker player.
Interesting.
I would bring my Qigong book by Wong Kiew Kit.
For my other thing, I would probably bring a solar powered radio. Gotta have tunes.
As for my snooker player. I think a lot of people would be surprised at my choice here. I would bring Peter Ebdon.
My book would be the Argos Catalogue so I look and dream of all the things I can't afford. The 1 other thing would be my moisturiser as I'm knocking on abit and need all the help I can get, and the Snooker player would be Matthew Stevens as I would love a long chat with him, I just love the lad.
My book would be a massive puzzlebook with a free pen.
My other 'thing' would be a boat.
My snooker player would be Stephen Lee just in case I had to eat something.

My book would be "The Stornoway Way" by Kevin MacNeil. The best book I've read so far this year. Thingie... a proper knife*.
I'm not sure that Steve Davis would be too happy to be stuck on a deserted island with me when I have a proper knife, but that's just tough luck. Oh, and it would be grand if we could somehow get lost there a couple of days after the final in Sheff: That way the Beeb won't be too keen to get him back asap
* I hope Steve would bring a lighter or matches, otherwise we'll be having a lot of carpaccio and very rare steaks.
My book would be "Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid" by Douglas Hofstadter.
The thing a excellent Swiss Army knife.
The player would be Ronnie because ...
- He's a good runner, so chances are he could catch something edible occasionally
- I would have practice with his accent; hopefully by the time we are rescued I will be able to understand him in interviews
- It is extremely unlikely he would borrow my book
- He's certainly not the less attractive of the lot
Book: Thukydides: The Peloponnesian War (would have to take my dictionary with me though, which would make it 2 books... )
other thing: Swiss Army knife of course
snooker player: hm, difficult, either Steve Davis, Peter Ebdonor Ken Doherty. Reason for that: From the interviews I have read so far, these three seem to have interests apart from snooker and/or reflect more on what they are doing (especially Peter Ebdon), which maybe makes them interesting to talk to. Players I would never take: Jimmy White and Ding Junhui
