well, I'd like to see Lochmaddy (like the name of the place), could be pretty interesting just for one day http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lochmaddy

of some busier places I'd want to see Edinburgh cos I have never have been there (and I know I will like it).

I'd go here :http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=4lq36ef , to give ya a pat on the back for the very nice thread .

Seriously..for me its very hard to pick only one place considering i stayed home all summer , for me anywhere would be great starting from here http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=68k74tj ,only 120Km away from where i live - the place i spent good part of my childhood, and ending up in Greece and York , as i have some friends to visit there. Anyway ...all my travel plans will have to wait for a couple of years..

Actually I saw this thread as giving an option to choose a place you would like to go, but normally would not consider as an option for holiday as it usually would be longer... or it should be a very well known place (in that case I'd go to my country house, for a complete peace, rest, nature, fresh air, cold mornings, hills, woods, grey and blue skies, oak trees in the middle of fields and the stork clapping in a quiet afternoon). So I chose the place I mentioned in a post above, as a day there would be interesting to me and I doubt I'll ever get there, so I just have a dream

I would love to go to Belgium as that is where my favourite Formula 1 track is (spar). I don't think I will be going this year as the race is September 16th, but I truly hope I get the chance to watch a Grand Prix there.

I'd have to go for Sandwood Bay in Scotland

Just a lovely place to relax - when you're there it doesn't matter that it is not 30 deg either.

indeed Sam, Zante (Zakynthos) is brilliant. the view from lying on that cove, not a care in the world, has stuck in my memory for years.....travelling all around the island, and into the old town too was great. must go back soon

You have no idea how happy I am to see so many people love Greece. Perhaps I'm not that biased after all...

Top of my list, Santorini. Always. It's a magical place.

in reply to Ninas comment....IMHO Greek people are in general very pleasant and friendly and the greek scenery is as good if not better than most places ive holidayed at. Stunning in fact.

thanks for all the replies. im glad i started the thread. some (all) very interesting posts (so far)
