      Hi issha

I agree with you that Slovenia was the team that didn't manage to finish what they started. They were the favourite in my book too, seeing the top 2 teams from group E and the top from F had advanced. But they "broke" under pressure, and all that tells me is Greece should have pushed harder from the beginning.

Now, our team has its good days and the bad ones, but do you really think the same team that won the Euro 2 years ago and made it to the World final last year is that bad? We have lost to Spain miserably twice, in the W.Ch. fianl and the first round now, but I'm hoping our players have learnt a lesson by now. PLus last night's victory should give them wings.

We are soon to find out anyway. May the best team win!

        hy nina...
i didnt want to be rude....for the beggining...
i just think that greece from 2 years ago and now isnt quite the same team...
defense strong like always...but in attack they find solutions very heavily..
the fact is that slovenia didnt play very good..and still...thay made nice ++..
greeks can "dead" the game and make it preety slow...which suit them...
but when spain is on the other side...it will be "sizifs work"....

It's true the Greek team is not the same now. There are players missing, Fotsis and Skortsianitis the most important imo.
I understand one may not like a team's style of play and I didn't think you rude issha. I have said it before that I expect to see Spain in the final, but... well it doesn't hurt to be optimistic, does it?

Greece lost to Spain in the first semi-final.
I can't say I'm not disappointed, even though I expected this result. What comforts me is, our team played a great game.

Greece suprised me in this competition by getting this far. It was a close semifinal with Russia narrowly winning 82-77. Greece did very well as they were trailing by 11 after the 2nd quarter to fight back and make it such a thrilling finish. I think that Vassilis Spanoulis did his country very proud

If the Russia v spain final is going to be just as exciting then i think you are all in for a real treat

The spectators had believed it that the Cup was going to stay in Spain. What disappointment! But in an ironic way, it seemed like there is balance in the universe... The Spanish volleyball team beat Russia in the final of the European Volleyball Championship yesterday and they were playing in Russia. A few hours later, the Russians beat the Spanish in their home.

Greece lost to Lithuania in the bronze medal match and lost the ticket for the 2008 Olympic Games. Ah well... at least our team tried their best...
The Lithuanians were better players - and better looking too!

PS: Marc, you need some tutoring on basketball - next time you should watch a match!
