  • *SPOILERS!* Formula 1 - .......Raikkonen wins....or does he?

I was gutted earlier when Hamilton lost. But could he have some sort of reprieve?

Would this be fair on Raikkonen? I think they should share the title.

It wouldnt surprise me if this did happen. F1 is corrupt as hell, ecclestone is on record as stating he would rather hamilton won as he's more marketable. Hamilton and Alonso have acted like children this season and all but turned me off from F1, and ive been watching since i was 8. The best and fastest driver won, and thats how it should remain.

Comedy capers. Ecclestone do anything Raikkonen not to win. its almost as shambolic as The Tour de France. Maybe an enquiry should be held about the rugby as well. I bet the turf was just 2 inches too short! Disqualify South Africa!

No way disqualifying S-Africa - this would be some modern Apartheid me think.
And may I remind you cyclism is doing something about it , can't be said of the other sports...
I saw that going differently in my mind

It was a bit of irony, wim. Some in England always complain if a match is lost. ITs either the referee who is biased in cricket, taking different fuel in F-1, or Henman having a difficult draw, hahaha!

Cycling, are they going to pack it in?

You forgot all the football World Cups that were a certainty to win!

Ah yes, that is standard procedure. I am so used to it, it completely slipped my mind

tbh, I disagree with you there, quite a bit.

No-one (AFAIK) complained regarding the F1, that was from the race stewards.

Henman, lets be honest, whilst being Britain's best hope for some time, was never really gonna do it. (Although there was the rain in 2001 ).

And as for the cricket, I don't know what you're referring too. All I can think of is the Darrell Hair incident, and that was the Pakistani's moaning.

But if you take a look at the British press, if a target is made, it's usually one of our own. Take Beckham in 1998, for example. They do regularly build our teams up, that is true. But it's a common misconception that we're full of sour grapes. Not all the time.

Oh, and I forgot to add, whilst the build up of the press can be enormous, most people are more realistic/pessimistic. Yes we believe - and hope that we can win things - but we're not really that cocky at all.

(I know you were joking, but my goat appears to have been got! )

Whilst we're on stereotypes (which this is), Paul, I thought I'd mention that I nearly got ran over by a bike in Amsterdam once !

In 1988 they were all complaining Malcolm Marshall was running too fast into the wicket and Ambrose was too tall!! And I dont even go into what they said about Viv Richards!

And see, at the World Cup last year, the Dutch called the ref incompetent!

                              http://www.expatica.com/actual/artic...story_id=31088

And all he did was give out 4 reds, 16 yellows and referee apallingly!

(I couldn't find anything where the Dutch press/fans were moaning!)

                              EDIT:l I take that back!
