  • Driver's license

I would like to share my good news with you all!

Last Thursday I passed the exam for my driver's license!

So coming Friday, I will be able to pick up my license and be able to legally drive!

Next I will be looking to buy a small, cheap car.

    Any advice?

      great news elvaago. WELL DONE!

best advice? know where your hazard light switch is.....take to the open road, preferably on a quiet day (sunday?) and drive drive drive, getting used to your new cars clutch (if its not an auto).

dont panic, switch on the hazards if you get flumoxed.

oh, and probably best to do a few hours in the daylight and dry weather, as you get used to the steering, suspension etc of your "new" car.

      most of all ENJOY

          Congrats elvaago!

I think Sem's advice are quite sound! Just one more: as a beginner you will probably be not too self confident in the beginning ... triggering impatient and aggressive reactions from some. Try to ignore them ... and above all don't do anything risky to "respond" to the provocations
Enjoy ... but expect to feel very tired after the first "runs" ... it's demanding on concentration

Congrats Elvaggo. My advice would be take someone with you who knows about cars when you go and have a look at any to buy.

                Congratulations!
don't go for too small, buy a save car (Renault being quite good at all those crash test things)

I got my DL a year ago , big achievement was for me as i spent years trying to get my guts/courage together and go for the driving classes . Now , after a year i still dont drive alone , someone has to be with me in the car when i m driving .

Under 1000 Euro? If you want to be safe, spend more (the winter is coming ). I have been driving my KIA for more than 7 years. Very reliable, safe, there´s nothing to repair. I made a great choice that time and it was just 5800 Mark (now ca. 3000 €uro). Just imagine you pay 1000, then it breakes down or it gets crashed and you have to buy another one for i.e. 1000. So why not pay 2000 for a better car? I know it´s all depending on your money but thats my advice.
