  • The top-ten films

What are the best ten films? Every reader that wants can make a list of 10 films that he or she like more. The rules are these:

-Make you list following your preferences. Don´t make your list following the critics if you don´t like a film. We look for the films that people really like them, and I´m sure that some films will be a surprise

-Order the 10 films. 1st the film that you like more, 10th the 10th film that you like more. Don´t write just 10 films

    -Final day: January the 31st.

The final list will be elaborate with all list sent in this topic.

    a) Every film is awarded with these points:

    1st.-20 pts, 2nd.-15 pts, 3rd.-12 pts, 4th,.-10 pts, 5th.-8 pts, 6th.-6 pts, 7th.-4 pts, 8th.-3 pts, 9th.-2pts, 10th.-1 pt

    b) For appearing in the final list the film must appear in at least 2 list (they are 10 or less lists) and 3 lists (more than 10)

    c) Tiebreaker.: If two or more films remain tied gets the better place who gets better places in one or more lists

Difficult...the Top 3 have been the same for many years now, the rest changes. I don't know why I am so fond of Lawrence of Arabia... it has a lot of weaknesses, but somehow I have to watch it over and over again.

As with all lists, this is basically a top 10 of the moment. Ask me again next week and I may name some different movies.

                        1. Conan the Barbarian
                        2. The Exorcist
                        3. Hellraiser
                        4. The Matrix
                        5. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
                        6. Superman
                        7. Event Horizon
                        8. Ben Hur
                        9. Transformers 1986
                        10. The Entity

It'd be easier to make a top 100, so I wouldn't have to leave stuff out. :-) It pains me to not be able to include Pulp Fiction, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Legend, Memento, Sixth Sense, Braveheart, Bloodsport, Rocky and so on and so on.

                              In any particular order,

One flew over the cuckoo’s nest (Jack Nicholson at his best, tearjerker)

Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Back (Battle scenes in the snow, awesome)

A Space Odyssey – 2001 (SF 1969, way ahead of its time)

Once upon a time in the west (epic, best ever western movie, full of toughness and revenge and Claudia Cardinale )

Lord of The Rings – The Two Towers (Speechless)

The Shining (Horror at its best, loony Jack again)

The Elephant Man (Black and White, lonileness and Sadness portrayed in a unique way, with happy end).

Novecento (atmosphere of italian fascism, sublime)

                              Dr. Zhivago (Romance, drama, tragedy)

Apocalypse Now (Psychedelic display of The Vietnam War, One can feel the heat and fear, Doors of course)

                              Gandhi was just nugded out.
