  • The best movie and why?

What movie makes your hair at the neck raise and why?
The best I know is Normal and Strait way to Chicago. The movies are so funny but meanwhile very sad.

Harvey. This is the film about a giant rabbit starring Jimmy Stewart. There is a great lesson in the film about humans and human behaviour. Jimmy Stewart is apparently mentally disturbed although the irony is maybe he is the only sane one. Anyone who hasn't seen the film should rent a DVD and enjoy. If only all people were like Elwood P. Dowd.

I used to like that as well. I saw a special screening on the big screen a few years ago and loved it. But i don't like it anymore

My all time favourite is Ben-Hur. Great movie. Anyone out there who enjoyed it too?

Ben Hur is totally amazing. One of my favourite movies.

My favourite movie of all times is Conan the Barbarian.

The acting is very good, especially by Max von Sydow and James Earl Jones. The concept of Good vs. Evil is of course a very strong one. The music is absolutely earth shattering. I can watch this one over and over and I have seen it at least a dozen times.

                      Hi

Usually I don't like watching movies that i've seen before, but there are two that I'll watch again every few years - Rush Hour 1 & Ace Ventura 1.

I can't narrow it down to 1 movie, I have to take my top 3 from the other thread:

Annie Hall: I am not particularly fond of comedies, but Woody Allen's dialogues in the mid 70s have some of the funniest lines in movie history.

Taxi Driver: Great actors, great script, but especially the hillarious ending makes this movie one of my favourites.

Lawrence of Arabia: Reason, quite simply: Peter O'Toole. I love his acting in this one, the mannerisms he shows, the slightly mad glances towards the end, just amazing, what a pity he didn't get the Oscar for his performance. The landscape and music are great too, whereas the dialogues and the supporting characters unfortunately don't show a lot of depth. Nevertheless, I have to watch this movie over and over again.

You're possibly looking for Door to Door (2002) by Steven Schachter?

Yeah - that sounds like Door to Door - it was on tv not that long ago and I watched it for the first time. What a lovely movie. William H. Macy was great in it. An inspiration to all I should think!
