  • Alex Higgins singing...and dancing!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM21esJpyys

An interview with Alex Higgins and Jimmy White after a match in the 1986 World Doubles.

Another funny moment at 2.30, Alex begins an answer to Dickie Davies' question with a strange but enthusiastic loud noise, which clearly surprises Jimmy...

I watched that at least 4 times and it only got better.

    Classic !

Jimmy takes about 2 seconds to react though. He looks a bit wasted lol.

Also on 34s it looks like Jimmy has his hand on Alex's upper thigh, or somewhere even more intimate..

Had to watch that bit again to see that it only seems that way on first glance.
"You can shove your snooker up your jacksie 'cos I aint playing no more!" Alex Higgins.

they proberbly werent that great of mates back then but over the years they have got much closer.......

but i think theres misinterpritation regarding jimmy white during the 80s.....

he was a shy young man didnt have much persanality to speak of...

infact you could say he and davis was the first of todays profesionals......

they did theire speaking on the table unlike Alex and Ray Reardon who was more vocal off the table..and more of a showmen if you like.....

Jimmy has said before he didn't like talking much to people as he didn't think anybody would be interested in what ( in his own words ) " little Jimmy White had to say " plus he always seemed a bit shy in the early days i think he could express himself better on a snooker table.

Him and Alex were/are good mates and in the early days Alex used to phone Jimmy's dad and ask him to send Jimmy to help him out with exhibitions he was doing, Jimmy said it was an honour to be asked by such a top player as Alex, these were the days before Jimmy was well known.

When Jimmys dad thanked Alex he said simply " no problem Tommy, i like Jimmy the player, and Jimmy the person he's a nice kid "
