For the record I have travelled through Macedonia on my way to Greece and passed Skopje when it was still intact. I do love the landscape, sir, pity there are a few silly sods walking around! .

Well, thats the end for me as this member has been sorted out and has nothing valuable to add on this topic!

      Cheers!

You are very wrong Matoski ... I know very well how to find it, on a map or otherwise ... I happen to be married to a Greek from Eipiros.

According to your username, you are a hungarian secessionist living in Romania. I understand why you support other secessionist movements.

Not a lot of people are going to take notice if a snooker tournament was cancelled, I fear... Apart from the "normal" Chinese citizens who don't have much to say in politics and would therefore be punished for nothing... Furthermore I don't think it is possible with only so few ranking tournaments this season...
A similar discussion is now up about the Olympics in Beijing, where a boycott would be more influential and probably also hurt the party leaders in China. I am not so sure if it had any influence on their politics though. Looking at boykotts at Olympic games in the past, nothing much had come out of them, at least to my understanding.

Personally I'd rather have the tournament (and the Olympics) cancelled, but I am surely not objective...

How does your husband feel about the albanian secessionistic ambitions in Chameria(northwestern Greece). There are more than one milion albanians there without any human rights.

As you say Ekphantos, cancelling or boycotting a snooker tournament will not have much influence on the political leaders in China. Olympic games is another story ... However these actions of boycott are always difficult to assess because they often hurt the innocent people much more than the leaders, as you also rightly point out.

I have no idea. We NEVER discuss politics. Having said that there are indeed a lot of Albanese in Greece, the vast majority of them entered there on their own volition, illegally and are registered nowhere... Staying this way they don't pay taxes. And that is a fact I know and I can't see why and how Greece could grant them any rights.
                    But this is going off-topics.

I wonder what kind of response (if any) you'll get from the Chinese members about this topic. All i know is that you won't be so harsh in front of them.

Whatever we write here can also be read by Chinese forum members, I don't see how thier presence should alter the comments....

I didn't expect that ridicoulous posts like matoski presents here.
I just want to know your opinion about that:
As I said I don't suggest boicot is the best option. But little Tibet flag on waistcoat it will be clear sign of players protest against that occupation and brutality in Tibet.
                          What's your point on it?

I hope our friend from FYRO will not answer this time.

Would be interesting to see how Chinese media reacts... In general not a bad idea, but what are the rules on that? Are players at all allowed to express their political views by wearing badges or flags (apart from their home country's)?
I think there's a danger of this getting out of hand. Just imagine, during election campaigns in Britain, political parties could "buy" a player for advertisement...

My username has nothing to do with my opinions. In fact i live in an area where are no hungarians at all. But your comment proves that you are judging things only at surface and you are not even trying to understand their real meaning.
And you understand nothing, my friend because imo you are just a frustrated person who should only be ignored.
I have nothing more to say, at this moment.
