Romania took a bronze medal in mens sabre, thanks to Mihai Covaliu who defeated frenchman Julien Pillet 15-11. Covaliu was the gold medalist in Sydney 2000 and lost 13-15 in the semis this year but came back to win the bronze.

What a day already at the Water Cube. Phelps taking his 4th and 5th golden medal and becoming the 'greatest of all times ' with 11 golden medals so far and there are 3 more to win this week for him.
Interesting as well were the semifinals on the 100 m free style. French Alain Bernard broke the world record in the first heat but 4 minutes later in the second heat aussie Eamon Sullivan broke it again. Strange games for Bernard so far who in the 4x100 m free style earlier this week made an big tactical mistake and allowed the Us and Phelps to take the golden medal. He could have become world famous as the man who hampered Phelps to realize his 8 golden medal dream.
No medals for Belgium so far ...anyone who wants to share one with us

Bronze medal again for Romania in gymnastics, in the girls team event. Although it looks like a bad result, considering the fact that Romania has won the last two glod medals ( in Sydney and Athens ), it really is a very good one because it is a change of generations and most of the girls are at their first or at most second big competition ( including European and World championships ). Romania does it again...this time is a silver medal in the women's individual epee. Ana Maria Branza was defeated in the final by the German Britta Heidemann 15-11.

This was a quite amazing and dramatic event. The American girl Alicia Sacrameno, the most experienced, made 2 fatal errors taking away every chance for US gold . She looked really devastated afterwards, poor girl.Originally Posted by attilahun View Post

Michal Martykan finally got the Gold in canoeing. After be second twice to Tony Estanquet in Sidney and Athens. ... He deserves it, he's the best.
