Today Usain Bolt broke the 200 meters world record. The previous mark was set by Michael Johnson with the time of 19.32 sec. in Atlanta ( 1996 Olympics ).
The new record is now 19.30 and i believe this record, not the 100 meters one, shows how good Bolt is.....

Ive read a statement made by Johnson during this olympic games in wich he said that he is sure Bolt will now broke his record in this olympic race...he said Bolt will probably run in 19.60 or so, but no way he will be able to beat 19.32 sec. He also said Bolt will broke the record in 2 or 3 years after he will gain more experience............

this is it from Johnson :

"I think he'll run 19.5-something,'' said Johnson, who is in Beijing as Jeremy Wariner's manager. "Will he be able to sustain what we saw the other day, which was incredible? I just don't think he's been doing the type of training he needs to do that. I put what he did the other day down to the fact that the guy has got an incredibly long stride and he's figured out how to make that long stride technically efficient.

"Speed endurance is something different, where you've got to hold that speed for a much longer time and that doesn't come into play in the 100 meters,'' Johnson said. "It becomes an endurance issue. The 200 is just a different feel.

GBR doing very well in the overall medal standings and Belgium still waiting for one little medal...

Don´t blame me. I did my best, just like I promised
But you still have a chance to win bronze in football. Is there any sport in which belgium could have a chance to win a medal?

Like all nation we had some wet dreams of winning a few medals, but we still have 3 chances to win one : the football team tomorrow in the semi final against Brazil ; The women qualified for 4x100 m relay with the best 3rd time (the USA crashed out) and Tia Hellebaut - the European champion in Goteborg - qualified for the women's high jump. Very disappointing so far were Kim Gevaert on the 100 m ( European champion in Goteborg ) even not qualifying for the final and our sailors Evy Van Acker and Sebastien Godfroid.
I don't think our football team will win against Brazil so we have to trust our women to win one
Oh I forgot: perhaps one in the Equestrian but I know nothing about that discipline and I m really not very interested as well and on Saturday who knows Sven Nys in Mountain bike...

The Olympian deserving most praise would be, in my humble opinion, the open water swimmer from the Netherlands who took gold in the Men's 10k after having beaten leukemia.
Or the disabled female swimmer who survived a motorcycle accident and finished her open water race in the Top 15.
Hats off to them for their true Olympic spirit!
