Until Casino Royale I would have said "Sean Connery" in a heartbeat.

I'm looking forward to Quantum of Solace, due to open here Nov. 7, not just for the entertainment, but to confirm my belief that the new Bond franchise, including Daniel Craig has raised the Bond bar significantly.
I also understand that Olga Kurylenko in Quantum is one of the hottest Bond girls in years, and raises other bars as well

Everyone knows Timothy Dalton is the best Bond, not Sean Connery.

The FACT is that the stats flatter Connery. He had much easier villains to deal with in his day.

Plus, Dalton was much faster at throwing his hat on the stand and copping a feel of Miss Moneypenny.

I'm not saying Connery wouldn't have done a few films had he been born 30 years later but he would NEVER have got the Living Daylights.
