I've read five or six of the books and I actually thought Timothy Dalton perfectly nailed his volatile personality. I don't think Daniel Craig comes particularly close to the literary character, but Casino Royale was probably the best Bond film since the 60s.

I hate it when they go American or Asian or even British with the Bond girls, only continental European women have that perfect combination of sophistication and sexiness that is right for a Bond film.
