      This is history.
      So many challenges.
      This is the right choice.
      Obama deserves our support.

Regardless, he will not win. Time will tell, hopefully not at our expenses, if Obama is indeed the right choice or not.

I find it kind of cute that so many people seem to think it matters if it's McCain or Obama who sits in the white house.

I'm a bit woried about Obama becoming a president. The Republicans left Balkans alone while Bush was president. With Richard Holbrook being positioned high in the democrat administration, i assume that the Balkans will become again a hot spot in Europe. Especially Bosnia, Macedonia and parts of Serbia.

Yeah next time theres another hurricane that wipes out New Orleans he's bound to thow some of the scraps to his brothers instead of leaving them to rot.

On your intro, you give your location as hut 57, that may well have been true was it not for america.

Yes, although it's hip to say that, it's still true. The big corporations/lobby groups aren't paying those dollarmillions because they simply like a candidate.. They usually want something in return, and if they don't get it.. well we all know what happened to Kennedy.

Rolo, you remind me of my hippy years, I thoroughly enjoyed them, but I knew I was mixing with losers.

Even the most jaded and cynical surely can see that, if only from the perspective of international public relations, something important happened last night.
That a black man of fairly humble origins, unconnected to the power structure, the son of a black Muslim father and a white mother could become the President of the USA is simply amazing... and he's not a "my armaments are bigger than yours" moron... he's intelligent... he's a Statesman... if he's a "talking head" for special interest groups, it's for those who want to see changes eradicating the cult of fear that is Bush's "War of Terror (thank you Borat)" fallout legacy. Faith in the US and World economies must be restored... a new vision promoting trust and hope and the possiblities of "The American Dream" is what Obama represents.
... sadly, this makes him ripe for martydom.

"Let me make one thing perfectly clear" (he says, sounding Presidentially confused)

Noel, Im highly delighted he won, I also think he will be a strong president but the world is broke, at the very least in dire trouble and the fact is nobody knows where its going to lead. The war on terror is because there is terror out there, these groups dont want to talk to us, they want to kill us.
My big problem with guys like Rolo is they would have us believe we are heading for the jungle, when the truth is we are just leaving it, but being slowed by others who's aims might be sincere, but for the majority of right thinking people are backward, harsh and brutal, that have no place in a understanding and kindly society.
The trouble with all religions is there is no complaints department, they can claim what they want, with no fear of ever being renounced from beyond the grave, and so it goes on.
Abama is a step in the right direction, hopefully he will help mankind on its way to a tamed world, where we are all valued and peace will reign, but for me it will be an impossible dream for thousands of years.
I remember bush in his first speech after 911, He said "we are entering a war that may last a thousand years" I think he was right, I just think it can be shortened drastically if we all sent the same message.
Anti american feelings for the most part are the wailings of the confused and ill informed. To my mind they are as dangerous as the terrorist, who's aim is to maim, kill and make the world a very much darker place.
Peace and hope for all, is the ultimate goal, to get to that point we need to defeat those that think differently.
